The Brain Boost Program is a prevention intervention for young people aged between 16 and 27 who are struggling with mental health issues but do not (yet) meet a DSM diagnoses. We focus on improving their emotional intelligence, so they learn how to deal with the ups and downs in life. One program consists of 8 workshops where young people come together in groups of 8-12 people for a period of four months. Under the guidance of trained experienced experts (or peer mentors as we call them) the develop the skills that fall under the four dimensions of EQ (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and social management). Our program has a proven positive effect on positive self-image, mental resilience and the reduction of emotional problems.
