The Estonian Chamber of Peer Support Counselling

About

Estonian Chamber of Peer Support Counselling (Kogemusnõustajate Koda) is a non-governmental umbrella organisation, that is dedicated to raising awareness, piloting and integrating the support service in the public and private sector. Chamber’s volunteers have guided the developments of peer support since 2017. The chamber coordinates a registry of peer counsellors that meet the national requirements derived from the Social Welfare Act. Currently (since 2023) we’ve taken on a path to vocational peer support to better define and regulate occupational qualifications. It’s a push towards a multidisciplinary approach to (mental) health management and recovery. Also, it aims to seize the opportunity to systematically implement peer support as an early and/or supported self-management intervention.
